Most of the time I don’t know what to say when I’m writing a journal entry. I mean most of what i experience is inexpressible in words!!! I mean everyone has different opinions they could take it the wrong way. Like if i say a person that is diagnosed with Cancer goes through a lot in life almost more than most go though an entire lifetime, I’M NOT saying that everyone doesn’t go through hard times in there life! And when i victims of cancer realize the beauty in everything and realize how much we take for granted i’m not saying the you have to develop Cancer to realize those special things. The only reason i’m writing this little blurb is because some people think its selfish of me to state these things. Or perhaps even offended!

So i havent written in like forever i know but hey i know it seems like i have all the time in the world to do what ever i want but its the complete opposite! there are some strict rules you MUST comply to when you have Cancer! Like you do not go to a location where you will be close to many people while just off chemo or if your neutropinic. . . . if you do you could catch something with out even knowing it and if not careful it could to fatal to us! YOU HAVE TO CHECK YOUR TEMP ALL THE TIME TO MAKE SURE YOU DONT HAVE A FEVER. You must wash your hands constantly as to not infect yourself, if you are to dwell in a place for a long period of time it must be kept sanitary! If someone you know is sick WHOEVER IT IS you must stay away from them at all costs catching what ever they have could also be fatal if a fever is in affect. Dont attempt strenuous activity if your currently taking your chemo treatments. You must also know your blood cell count at all time when you take your weekly test.
These are but a few of the delightful rules us Cancer patients have to surcome to. Some people believe that when you diagnosed with Cancer you just do your treatment and move on with life as if nothing happened and make the best of it. This is not true being diagnosed with Cancer changes you and not to mention your lifestyle takes a major turn! Your always concious of what is around you and what you must do to be safe. It acts like a deep flesh scar, it hurts for a long time but slowly with time it does heal but with a lot of attention and care during the healing process. After the hard work is done your still left is an apparent scar, and it doesnt ever leave you. There wont be a day where you wont remember about your journy what you acomplised and what you fought for. Unfortunatly sometimes the scar gets worse and is no way of healing it.

So yeah us Cancer patients have it real good sometimes lol we do get a load of perks that come with our grim situation. Like free tickets to events and concerts! Get to meet amazing people which is absolutly hilarious!!! I actually got to see my first concert from kids with Cancer society, i know i’m seventeen and it was my first concert its sad. But me and my Dad attened the Canadian Idol tour at the citadel theater in january, it was pretty entertaining for my first concert lol. I recently attented my second concert this time i GOT TO MEET HER AND GIVE HER FLOWERS AFTER HER SHOW!!!! It was sometime who i never thought i’d meet and chances are you guys probubly wont even know who i’m talking about but i got to meet Natalie Cole! NATE KING COLES DAUGHTER in concert and then gave her flowers and found out that we were put in the newspaper now i’m sorry but i think it was pretty amazing I MEAN NATE KING COLES DAUGHTER uhh how cool is that!!!! Hahaha i also got to meet haha the “real” Ronald Mcdonald it was really creepy if you got him to talk it was identical to the commercials like scary creepy! I also got to meet a magician named Wayne Lee he is really famous for his work he also does big shows at Capital –X, i got to meet a good friend of Chris Angels apparently they did some work togeter in his show, and was his long time friend, i also got to see a few Oliers hockey players!
Sometimes i think i would wonder why these people would come to the hospital to see us and spend some time with us. But then i would remember we were in the HOSPITAL and we all had CANCER we all have the potential risk of dying at a very young age. Then what i feel what i see someome that takes the time out of there busy scheduels even for the brifest moment to see us reminds me that there is still some good people out there and that not all the world is cruel. So i’d like to extend my deepest gratitute to those who take the time out to show us you care! Even if you dont visit to all those who make a donation to some foundation at a fundraiser or volunteer at the hospital to help out i want to say thanks. Although we may not express our gratitute as offten as we should we are truly grateful for all that you do to help us in our time of need.
